Ladies Place at Pompano Beach Rodeo

Congratulations to Yolanda Buck of Pompano Beach for placing second in the Drift Boat Division at the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo on May 15.

Fishing on the Helen S, Buck caught a total of 68.5lbs. including a 26.5lbs. kingfish, a keeper mutton snapper and another 30lbs. kingfish. She was only 5 lbs. from first place!

“I was close to first place, but couldn't find another fish,” she said. “I was so nervous and excited.”

This was only Buck's second experience with a fishing a tournament, she happily gushed "oh my gosh. I was a shaking mess. I've learned so much from LLGF, knots and I can do all of it myself."

Yolanda was only the second lady to ever place in the Drift Boat Division, the first lady to ever place was our own Lucy O'Connor, who took FIRST place last year! Both are members of the LLGF South Florida Chapter. Great going, gals!
